Not Moving in America
Paul Krugman comments on how American society has become further economically stratified. "The myth of income mobility has always exceeded the reality: As a general rule, once they've reached their 30s, people don't move up and down the income ladder very much." And, the Bush administration is furthering this class split by helping the high income tax payers and then cutting the funding to welfare and education programs for the poor.
